When Mika and I were swimming in the lake today, we watched motorboats speeding across the water. Today, people use motorboats for leisure, but many years ago, boats and ships did not have engines.

It was quite warm in Germany last week, so Mika and I went outside a lot and made the most out of the good weather. We noticed that when you look at the streets, the air above them shimmers! It’s as if the street is getting a bit dizzy from the heat.

Last week, Mika and I were on vacation in Finland. When it got dark in the evening, we sat down by a large lake in the middle of the forest to look at the stars. And then it suddenly happened: The sky started to glow.

It rained all day today. Nevertheless, I wanted to play outside with Mika. So I put on my rain jacket and we went outside and jumped from puddle to puddle. It was really fun.

Mika and I are currently visiting (AC)³ researcher Sofie Tiedeck at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Potsdam.

Today I went to the playground with Mika. It was great fun. First we went on the swings, then we had a few goes on the roundabout.

I enjoy climbing (even though there are few mountains here in the north) and my favourite ice cream flavours are cinnamon (to eat) and sea ice (for research).
