Mia’s climate diary – Let me introduce myself

Hi, I’m Mia, I’m 10 years old and I’m from Leipzig. Normally I’m jumping on the trampoline, reading comics, playing games or playing with Mika, my little arctic fox, or with my dwarf rabbits. But since last year, I’ve been hearing the word “climate change” everywhere, both at school and when my parents talk. There were even big demonstrations in Leipzig – and now I’m a bit curious and want to know more about it.

And I noticed it too, it gets quite warm in summer. It hardly ever snows in Leipzig in winter. It snowed wonderfully this February. But last winter we couldn’t go sledging once on our mini-mountain “Warze”.

Why is there so much fuss about this big word “climate change”? I’m going to read, ask and keep on investigating. I’ll share what I find out and experience with you here in the climate diary. There will be new entries every week. Do you have a climate issue that is bothering you? Write me an e-mail.

I am convinced that it can only be exciting… and funny too, because I am funny. 🙂
